Mythstalkers

Set in the Victorian era, Mythstalkers is an intriguing mix of science and the supernatural. It tells the tale of five members of the Society for Cryptozoological Research who travel around the world tracking down creatures of legend and myth—like trolls and goblins—who have inexplicably returned to existence. The team is made up of Lord Kenneth Valence, a fop whose father led the previous incarnation of the Mythstalkers; Colonel Augustus Durant, a big-game-hunter-turned-pacifist who uses non-violent means to track down legendary creatures; Victor Terranova, a stage magician who does not believe in magic; Sir Charles Rutledge Brown, the scientist and the brains behind the Mythstalkers; and Cassandra Chatterton, a female adventurer who thrives on defying Victorian expectations of women. It’s not The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but Mythstalkers is worth a look for fans that enjoyed The League.
