Only the End of the World Again

    (Oni, 2000, 2018)
™ and ©2000 Neil Gaiman, Troy Nixey, and P. Craig Russell

The fittingly named Lawrence Talbot is an adjuster who has set up shop in the dreary, depressing town of Innsmouth. There he encounters a coterie of macabre characters who give him unsolicited advice about the curse of lycanthropy. That would seem unusual if Talbot hadn’t vomited pieces of a child’s fingers and a dog’s paw soon after waking in a bed full of animal hair and shredded sheets. Apparently his situation is an open secret. A fat old man tells him the end of the world happens with alarming frequency and is regularly diverted by luck or design. As with everything else that happens to him, Talbot takes this news in stride.

This title collects a story that appeared in Oni Double Feature, issues 6-8. It was adapted by P. Craig Russell from a story by Neil Gaiman and illustrated by Troy Nixey whose art is wholly appropriate for these eccentric and disturbing characters.
