Elfquest: Hidden Years

This title follows on the heels of Elfquest: Kings of the Broken Wheel. That series served as a climax to the story of Cutter and his Wolfriders which began in the original Elfquest series. Now Elfquest: Hidden Years tells stories from the times in between.

In a departure for the Elfquest creative team, this title features fully colored artwork, instead of the black-and-white panels which had worked so well in the past. The first few issues of The Hidden Years feature painted artwork by Elfquest creator Wendy Pini. Afterward, Wendy stepped into a managing role, handing over the writing and penciling jobs to a new team. However, as the story and art director, she took care to make sure that The Hidden Years lives up to the high standards set by the original Elfquest. In a special crossover, Harbinger #11, by Valiant, featured a character reading a comic book which was actually a preview of Elfquest: The Hidden Years #3.
