Drama was intended to be the foundation of the mythic struggle of Darrian Ashoka who existed in the super-symbolic world of Dawn. Simultaneously, artist-creator Joseph Michael Linsner established the foundation for Dawn’s universe. His artwork incorporates a rich vocabulary of symbolic subtext, weaving images of theology, psychology, and mythology together into a fluid fabric of line and color. Drama is a unique trinity of art, literature and the human spirit as it borrows heavily from the world’s great traditions. Also, Linsner is showing that comic books are not a “kid thing” as he provides enthralling stories held together with artwork that is surreal, gothic, sometimes pornographic and beautiful. Always at the center of this unique style will be the femme fatale Dawn. As a result, one can feed the mind as well as the eyes.
