The Marvel Treasury Edition series stands out (literally) as some of the largest comic books ever printed. Published in the mid-1970s, the series kicked off with a Spider-Man special that reprinted some of his earliest adventures in an enlarged format. This was followed by over two dozen other specials featuring everyone from Conan the Barbarian to Howard the Duck. Although the oversized format of these specials was a headache for retailers, they were favorites with collectors. As a final send-off to the series, Marvel and DC joined forces to publish a Spider-Man/Superman team-up.
