Solarman
(Marvel, 1989-1990)
™ and ©1990 David Oliphant
The evil warlord Gormaga Kraal traveled across the galaxy, draining the power of each sun into his ship’s power pods. His ambition boundless, he vowed not to stop until he had captured the very power of the universe. Little did he care that by draining the power of a system’s sun, he condemned the inhabitants of the surrounding planets to death.
But Kraal’s chief scientist, Dr. Sha-Han could stand by and watch no longer. He escaped, stealing Kraal’s circlet of power. Kraal’s men noticed Sha-Han’s fleeing ship, they struck it with lasers, sending it tumbling to Earth. There, Sha-Han managed to pass the circlet to young Benjamin Tucker before dying. When exposed to the sun’s rays, it turns Ben into Solarman: a super-hero with the power to challenge the dread Kraal.
This short-lived series was adapted from a cartoon show.
