Armageddon: Inferno

    (DC, 1992)

Although he had prevented the dark future foretold in Armageddon 2001, Waverider came across another rip in the time stream. A dozen disciples of Abraxis have summoned that demon into this world, offering him their very souls to allow his passage.

Abraxis transformed the disciples by triads into four daemons which he sent to different time periods to prepare the way for him. Waverider was unable to stop their formation, but he was able to summon groups of heroes uniquely suited for each time period to oppose them. Accordingly, he arranged for Superman, Troia, Flash,Wonder Woman, Power Girl, and the Martian Manhunter to fight the daemon in the future; Hawkman, Hawkwoman, and the Losers fight in the time of World War II; Lobo, Guy Gardner, Starfire, the New Gods’ Orion, and Enemy Ace battle in the age of dinosaurs, and Batman and others fight the daemon in the recent past.
