How does one describe the comic called Coda?

On the surface it is almost immediately obvious that it is a sci-fi action adventure. There are robots—lots of them. Big robots, small robots. There are monsters—big ones and small ones of those, too. There are spaceships, there are strange planets. And the hero of this title—Coda—has a mysterious glowing rock embedded in his head that grants him super powers whenever he is threatened (boy, that must be really handy).

Overall it’s a weird tale. And because the title includes satirical features one might tend to think there is something underneath—some clever message giving deeper meaning to this fantastic adventure—though if there is, we haven’t figured it out. It’s simply a story about a guy trying to figure out what its all about, who he is and where the rock in his head came from….
