Barney and Betty Rubble

™ and © Charlton Publications, Inc.

When Charlton Comics took over the Hanna-Barbera licenses from Gold Key in 1970, one of the properties they got was The Flintstones, which they duly released in a new series. Apparently this series sold well enough and so Charlton went on to spin-off Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm, The Great Gazoo and these characters (The Flintstones’ next-door neighbors) in respective series. Results are only as good as you can tolerate the sometimes off-model and inappropriate characterizations that often epitomized Charton’s output.
