The Beagle Boys

Not many comic-book bad guys have been popular enough to earn their own ongoing series—heck, even the Joker only had a brief run in the 1970s (although his girl-pal Harley Quinn fared somewhat better). But in the Disney franchise, it seems no character is too unpopular to warrant their own book. And so it is with that terrible trio, the bane of Duckburg, the Beagle Boys. These three baddie brothers spend about three stories an issue wreaking their goofy brand of evil as they run, er, afowl, of Uncle Scrooge, Gyro Gearloose, Donald Duck and the rest of the Disney funny-animal pantheon. While the Boys themselves are no example for children, it’s worth noting that their young nephews—honest do-gooders through and through—are part of the regular book’s cast and typically help foil whatever plot their ne’er-do-well uncles have dreamed up. Good clean fun in the Disney tradition.
