Eternals: The Herod Factor

In ages past, a race of cosmic beings called the Celestials experimented on the race that would become man. As a result of their experiments, the world split into three races. At the top of the evolutionary scale were the Eternals, often regarded as gods. At the bottom were the Deviants, a monstrous race that lived deep within the earth. And in the middle was man. Often, it was man who paid the worst price when Eternals and Deviants would clash.

In this one-shot, it seems that a new war between Eternals and Deviants is to be triggered by an ancient prophecy. A scroll has been uncovered that proclaims that the twin progeny of an Eternal and a Deviant would rise to rule all three races when they reach their eighteenth birthday. Simultaneous with the discovery of this scroll, a huge monster appeared and slew two groups of twins. Only three parties know the truth behind this prophecy: the two parents of the children—and the one trying to kill them!
