On a paleontology dig near Dublin, Rory McKenna has discovered what appears to be very unusual dinosaur bones. These bones are unusual because they conform to no known species of dinosaur and carbon dating indicates that they are only 1,300 years old! McKenna believes he has unearthed proof of a life-long ambition: evidence of the existence of dragons.

Later, supported by cables in the National Museum of Dublin, the imposing reconstructed skeleton is a popular attraction, regardless of the widespread skepticism that accompanies McKenna’s dragon claims. A young woman who came to view the dragon skeleton expressed an interest to McKenna in investing in his research. She returned to the museum after hours to retrieve a forgotten purse, and except for a large pool of blood near the dragon exhibit, was not seen again. Police believe McKenna to be the likely culprit. It is only days later that McKenna realized that, when he returned to the museum that lethal night, no cables were supporting the skeleton…
