Beauties & Beasts (Budd’s…)

    (Amryl, 2005, 2007)
™and © 2005 Budd Root

For most of the history of Budd Root’s Cavewoman comic and its titular heroine, Meriem, the main selling point has been its good-girl art and occasionally risqué humor and action. This one-shot goes a little beyond risqué to raunchy, as Meriem graces each short adventure and pinup either half-naked or entirely unclothed. The special also features Frank Cho characters (and one Cho sketch) and Root’s take on a variety of other heroes, heroines, and monsters.

While the beautiful and voluptuous Cavewoman is the main selling point here, Root’s homages to other characters show his creative and artistic versatility.
