Christi Lake grew up in Minneapolis, and took her porn actress name from the many lakes in the area. A tomboy in her youth, she didn’t date much, even in high school. After graduation, she took a job in a video store where she began to wonder about the things she saw on the adult videos there. More temp jobs followed, culminating with a job at an acrylics plant where fears over the carcinogenic nature of the materials that she handled led her to vow to “take the first job I see.” This, it turned out, was an adult dance competition where she got her first taste of performing as a showgirl. Later, she attended a showgirls’ convention where she was introduced to swinging. An offer to pose for High Society magazine followed, then a trip to Hollywood where she made a deal to work in adult films. She became one of the industry’s biggest stars, and even produced several films herself. Possibly the most interesting aspect, however, was her fan club, where interesting letters might lead to the writer’s chance to star with Christi in a series of her self-produced porn movies.
