Battlestar Galactica: Apollo’s Journey
(Maximum, 1995)
™ and © 1995 Maximum Press
The Battlestar Galactica television series was a little more than a Star Wars rip-off, and a little less than a western in space. Its concepts were revived years after its cancellation through a collection of comic book efforts.
In this, the evil cybernetic Cylon disguised as a human almost causes the destruction of Galactica, until brave heroes and pals Apollo and Starbuck trap him and shoot him into deep space. Alas, Starbuck was trapped with the creature, and Apollo is the one who pushed the eject button. Believing his friend dead, Apollo deals with a load of emotional baggage and an attempt to lure his soul to the dark side. Amid all the turmoil, raiders take everyone hostage.
Written by actor Richard Hatch, who played Apollo in the television series, art was provided by Hector Gomez, whose other credits include many Buffy the Vampire Slayer books from Dark Horse Comics.
