Tellos is a fantasy patchwork world made up of a myriad of different realms, populated by creatures of magic, myth and legend.

The book opens with “Night Flight,” in which mercenary Hawke and Rikk the Fox stow away on an outgoing sky ship in order to steal the Mahdest Angel. Problems ensue when they are caught and Hawke develops a crush on the beautiful ship’s captain. In “Jealous Skies,” a father gives his son the power of flight, but a jealous eagle turns the gift into disaster. And in “Rites of Shadow” (with art by paraplegic Thor Badendyck), the precocious Rikk spies on a secret ritual performed by people who become rather upset at discovering an uninvited guest.

This one-shot features several exceptional standalone stories and serves as an easy jumping-on point for new readers of the series. Like most Tellos stories, these are well-crafted tales head and shoulders above typical comic book fantasy.
