Galactica: The New Millennium
(Realm, 1999)
™ and ©1999 Universal Studios
Fleeing the Cylon tyranny, the last Battlestar, Galactica, leads a rag-tag fugitive fleet on a lonely quest for a bright shining planet known as…Earth.
The Universal one-season wonder of 1978 to 1979 was, for its time, the most expensive television program ever produced. Many have tried to carry on Glen Larson’s tale but many have fallen along the way. Marvel’s Battlestar Galactica lasted around three years before going away. Maximum chose the more cautious approach of incredible stories in four-or-so issue mini-series such as Battlestar Galacticia, Battlestar Galactica : Apollo’s Journey, Battlestar Galactica : Journey’s End, and Battlestar Galactica: Starbuck, as well as one shots such as Battlestar Galactica : The Compendium. During the late 1990s, Realm managed to take a shot at telling the stories that were no longer being filmed as the remnants of the Colonial Empire seek out the sanctuary of their long-lost thirteenth tribe.
