Star Wars: Vader’s Quest

In this four-issue mini-series, set just after the movie Episode IV: A New Hope, Darth Vader is determined to discover the name of the pilot who destroyed the Death Star. When he learns the culprit’s name is Luke Skywalker, Vader’s quest begins. He commissions a network of spies to scour the galaxy, searching for young Skywalker.

Meanwhile, two other people will intersect with Vader’s plan. The first is Mala, a small burn-scarred alien woman. She is the only bystander who escapes with her life when Vader purges all witnesses that heard Skywalker’s name.

The other is a bitter X-Wing pilot named Jal. An experienced fighter with 31 missions under his belt, he was too sick to storm the Death Star. Now his bitterness and jealously of Luke may inadvertently propel him directly into Vader’s path. Will this strange pair help or hinder Vader’s quest?
