The Wings of Anansi

Dawg is just an ordinary street punk, who has too many run-ins with the law and too many of the wrong friends. He also has a ring, given to him by his grandfather, and he won’t part with that for anything. Unfortunately, that loyalty gets him in even more trouble—next thing he knows he’s a wanted felon and he’s slept with a crime boss’s main squeeze. The deeper in trouble he gets, though, the closer he is to discovering just why the ring he wears, which may hold the soul of the titular Anansi, and is so very important to his future…

On the surface this is a standard tale of a seedy criminal underground, but there’s a bit more going on here. Michael Avon Oeming, best known for his work on Powers, writes it, while Greg Titus draws it in a style that brings to mind Michael Golden.
