Strikeback is the romantic story of Rascal and Nikita, sort of the Romeo and Juliet of the super-hero set. Her parents don’t want them to be together, and, as fate would have it, they need her powers for some insidious plot. So they kidnap her on her twenty-fifth birthday, sending Rascal with his superduper “weapon-scarf” and his superduper pals—including the daringly different Midnight Devil—on a mayhem-filled “Hunt for Nikita.”

How does it turn out? Good question. Malibu Comics’ Bravura imprint didn’t last long enough for this entertaining limited series by Jonathan Peterson (New Titans) and Kevin Maguire (Justice League) to reach its conclusion; it ended with the third issue, right in the middle of a projected six-issue storyline.
