Digital Graffiti
(AP, 2003-2004)
™ and © AP
Picture London a century or two from now, a place where towering buildings stretch as high as sight into the sky. The residents who live in the towers are rich and privileged. Down at the street level, life is not as rosy. Where education ends and unemployment looms, gangs of teenagers band together to place their “tag” on the city walls, each gang adopting a separate motif. Mostly, they just lash out at society by scrambling the digital advertisements that cover the surfaces of the city. The story focuses on members of a gang called the Pride: Beez, Kenzo and Sirius, who spend most of their time stealing technology and avoiding the authorities.
