Superman/ThunderCats
(WildStorm, 2004)
™ and ©2004 DC Comics, Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and Ted Wolf
Who would have thought that the last son of Krypton would ever team up with Lion-O and his group of man-sized cat warriors? But team up they do in this licensed one-shot when the 80s cartoon heroes, the Thundercats, are pulled through a dimensional portal to Earth while fighting their greatest enemy, Mumm-Ra. The goal? Capture the mighty Eye of Thundera before Mumm-Ra’s theft squad. The problem? When Superman sees a bunch of cat people with swords tearing up Metropolis, he hits first and asks questions later. After the obligatory clash between the heroes, both parties realize their on the same side and team up to teach Mumm-Ra’s evil lackeys some painful lessons about taking things that don’t belong to them. The artwork is excellent, and the twist ending adds a nice touch.
