Another entry in the world of cute–things–turned–gothically–evil, Deady is the tale of a cosmic being of evil and treachery stuck in the form of a cute little teddy bear. Created by the goth guru Voltaire (creator and writer/artist of Chi-Chian) the graphic novel contains a series of somewhat amusing tales of the tyrant teddy’s misfortunes and plots of world domination gone awry. The highlights of this graphic novel are guest work by such horror luminaries as Dan Brereton (Nocturnals) and James O’Barr (The Crow). Another surprise in the book is a tale written and illustrated by Maxwell Atoms, the creator of the Cartoon Network’s The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, arguably one of the most entertaining cartoons on the tube!
