If this was just a jungle comic about a big gorilla, it would never have merited its own series. Luckily, Congorilla, despite its name, is much more than that. It began more than thirty years ago as a white explorer braved the jungles for the first time. In time this explorer became known as “Congo Bill,” the most renowned white man in the Congo— famous both for his experience and his respect for the jungle.

One day Congo Bill came across Janu, a wildling child, who, he took in and raised as his own. The child eventually left Bill to go off to college in America. When he returned he was a changed man, in some sort of great trouble. Congo Bill, meanwhile, had been given a ring of great magic that let his spirit switch places with the great gorilla spirit. He gave the ring to Janu, but one day awoke from a car crash to find himself trapped in the immobilized body of Janu. His own body was missing. And the gorilla…
