In 1859, Charles Darwin published the controversial tome “Origin of the Species” as the civilized world enjoyed an Age of Enlightenment. Humanity marched toward an age of fulfillment realized by science and technology. Now, unbeknownst to Homo sapiens, the dawn of a new race is close at hand. A divergent species has appeared, possessing powers and abilities that could lead mankind into unlimited achievement or into eternal damnation.

Nathaniel Essex seeks the destiny of mankind derived from a distorted interpretation of Darwin’s revolutionary theory of evolution. As a result of his reckless assistants’ actions, Essex has attracted the attention of ancient Apocalypse, a superbeing who could be malefactor or benefactor. One can sense a disturbing uneasiness creeping into the soul when observing a man willing to forsake his humanity for a questionable objective. Literally thrown into this spiritual maelstrom are Cyclops and Phoenix as they attempt to prevent a reprehensible transgression.
