Would you believe that the Get Smart comic book was the most successful comic book of all time? Would you believe it during the 60s? How about for eight issues? Created by comedians Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, this comic was based on the hit 1965-1970 TV series and James Bond spoof starring Don Adams as Agent 86 Maxwell Smart, a bumbling spy who considers himself the top of his game, and his level-headed cohort in spying, Barbara Feldon, as Agent 99 (whom he eventually married on the show). Smart was a constant exasperation for the Chief, played by Ed Platt, as they battled the evil KAOS; but the day was usually saved by his competent partner, Agent 99.
