Here’s an interesting twist: a children’s book that became a movie that became a sequel movie, now has become a British Annual that reads like a children’s book. The Shrek 2 Annual follows the hit feature film faithfully, with actual frame blow-ups complimented with text. The late William Steig would be impressed that one of his latter-day works was so impressively presented. In the US, we got a small paperback version of the movie adaptation coupled with the original Shrek, published by Tokyopop. This is a much more handsome presentation, rounded out with a few puzzle pages.
