Professor Miles Warren, a.k.a. the Jackal, has made a career out of messing up Peter Parker’s life. Way back in Amazing Spider-Man #149 he went so far as to actually clone Parker, then to convince the real Parker that he was actually the clone. Many years later, the real Parker (calling himself Ben Reilly) reappeared, eventually becoming known as the Scarlet Spider.

In the Maximum Clonage storyline, the Jackal would attempt to carry out his nastiest trick yet. His plan was to spread the Carrion Virus throughout the world, beginning with the offices of The Daily Bugle. After the staffers were killed, he would begin replacing them with clones subservient to himself. Maximum Clonage Omega is the culmination of his mad scheme, with only the two Peter Parkers there to stop him.
