Produced by animation artist Stephen Ahola and a consortium of Canadian dentists, this comic is part of “Plaque Patrol,” a multimedia project intended to promote oral hygiene among children through entertainment. A new species of mutant plaque is discovered that can conceivably dissolve anything; its creation is blamed on the mysterious Dr. Doug. Meanwhile, five teenagers enter the maligned doctor’s house on Halloween and are subsequently detained by him; after arming them with “fluoride guns,” “floss–shooting sai brushes,” and other hand–to–mouth weaponry, he asks them to enter his own mouth to battle the teeming enemy within.
