The Mighty Ace

    (Omega 7, 1992)
™ and © Omega 7 Comics

Black industrialist/inventor/millionaire, Eric Drake revels in his lifestyle, never acknowledging the responsibility he has to his roots. The power suit he invented will bring him billions more when he sells it to the highest bidder… unless Agent Naiper and his band unscrupulous agents from the U.S. Special Covert Team manage to steal it. When Drake’s nephew is killed in drive-by shooting, he uses his suit to become The Mighty Ace, track down the killers and possibly come to understand the duty he has to his race.

As with Original Man, writer Alonzo Washington uses his comic publishing ambition to address the problems facing black urban youth. Unfortunately for all Washington’s good intentions, The Mighty Ace suffers from stilted and cliched dialogue that detracts from the storyline.
