Following the success of Big Bang Comics, this special pays tribute to the comics and creators of yesteryear… by presenting new stories written and drawn in the style of Golden and Silver Age comics. Though the stories seem simplistic compared to those of today, they attempt to recapture the sense of light-hearted fun present in earlier comics, and the characters always exhibit true heroism, whether they are battling Nazis, mad scientists, or common street thugs.

Several of the heroes presented here are very reminiscent of other more well-known Golden Age heroes. Vita-Man, for instance, gains great powers from his special panacea pills. Rex Tyler, aka Hourman of DC’s Justice Society, gets one hour of super-powers from one of his specially designed miraclo pills. And Dr. Stellar, astronomer and master of anti-gravity, could well be the long-lost brother of yet another JSA member, Starman.
