The level of interest in this series of wild teenagers, muscle cars, and reckless driving doesn‘t last long enough to clock a decent time for the quarter mile. Every good guy is law-abiding, righteous, and a skillful driver. Every bad boy is inexperienced, stubborn, and a reckless driver. So the formula is simple: bad boy has inflated opinion of his own driving skills, good guy thinks otherwise; then using proper driving techniques, good guy defeats bad boy. The stories are about as exciting as a school bus drag race. Even the descriptions of the “hot rods” aren’t “hot”…
