Buster Bunny

    (Standard, 1949-1953)
©1949 Animated Cartoons, Inc.

In the 1940s and ’50s, it seemed that younger kids couldn’t get enough of funny animals: rabbits, ducks, pigs, dogs, and other creatures whose all-too-human foibles got them in all kinds of hilarious trouble. And when the drugstores ran out of Donald Duck, Bugs Bunny, and Porky Pig comics, there were always titles like Buster Bunny to keep the tots howling for more.

Buster is a young rabbit with caring but somewhat naïve parents, a mischievous streak a mile wide, and an active imagination that allows him to dream up adventures in different times and places. Also featured in backup stories are Brownie Bear, Tommy Turtle, and Cuffy the Cat.
