In the late 1990s, the Fox Television network’s Saturday morning line-up included, “Life with Louie,” a cartoon based on comedian Louie Anderson, “Bobby’s World,” and Ben Edlund’s hilarious super-hero satire, The Tick. These shows engendered comic book versions and those strips appeared under this title from Acclaim to promote the Fox line-up.

This unusually sized book, (similar to children’s storybooks) had a heavy card-stock cover that featured the Tick story within. While “Bobby’s World” and “Life with Louie” are straightforward moral-teaching comedy narratives, the Tick story contains all of the absurdity that is the defining characteristic of this fan-favorite. The two entirely different types of humor that these strips employ make this book something of an oddity.
