Madman Adventures

    (Tundra, 1993)
™ and ©1992 Michael D. Allred

This 1992 mini-series was the second to star Mike Allred’s Madman. The title character is one Frank Einstein (say it together to get the joke). He’s a costumed do-gooder who defends Snap City against all manner of evil, such as the roaming gangs of street beatniks who are laying an evil trip upon the populace.

In addition to crime-fighting, Frank acts as an assistant to Dr. Boiffard and Dr. Flem, the original mad scientists. In this latest adventure, Frank accompanies Dr. Flem on a wacky journey across time itself, in an effort to record the whole of human history. Of course, the plan goes terribly wrong, with results as funny as they are strange.

All in all, Madman is a real treat: an offbeat series that combines science-fiction adventure with comedy and a surprising and charming gentleness.
