Calling All Kids

    (Parents’ Magazine Institute, 1945-1949)
™ and ©1947 Parents’ Magazine Institute

Calling All Kids proudly proclaimed it was sponsored (and published) by Parents’ Magazine. No one reading it would imagine any thing different, not even a kid growing up in the 1940s. Full of entirely innocuous and undistinguished funny animals strips (Marco Polar Bear and Pug the Beaver) and the odd, funny, celestial object strip (Twinkle, the Little Star that Came Down from Heaven), Calling All Kids was larded out with pages of games, quizzes, and activities scientifically shown to be both entertaining to kids and good for them too! Calling All Kids also provided a helpful alternative for young ’uns who couldn’t choose between Parents’ Magazine’s two other offerings, Calling All Girls and Calling All Boys.
