Justice Society of America (Mini-Series)

This mini-series gave DC a chance to bring back their first ongoing super-hero group, the Justice Society of America. Originally appearing in All Star Comics #3–4, this team brought together star characters from publishers All-American Comics and Detective Comics (who published together under the DC imprint).

Early team members included the Golden Age Flash, Green Lantern, the Sandman, the Spectre, Doctor Fate, Atom, Hawkman, and others. Later, Wonder Woman would join (as the team’s secretary!), followed later by a second female, the Black Canary. Together as the Justice Society of America, these heroes would enjoy an eleven-year run (outlasting most of their individual titles).

In this eight-issue mini-series, the heroes are back again, trying to stop an old foe, and halt a strange energy creature that threatens to blacken the nation’s cities.
