The current JSA series is all about the concept of legacy – the idea that this super-team embodies not only the history of the DC Universe, but also the history of the comic book industry. The first issue of this eight-issue limited series from regular JSA writers Geoff Johns and David Goyer pits the legendary Justice Society against the Injustice Society and their new leader—wait for it—Legacy, who quickly incapacitates the remaining JSA founders—the original Green Lantern, the original Flash, Wildcat, and Hawkman, leaving the younger members of the team to confront the demons of their respective pasts in order to save their mentors. Issues 2-7 feature Hawkgirl, Doctor Fate, Mister Terrific, Doctor Mid-Nite, Star-Spangled Kid, and Hourman in solo stories that contribute to the final confrontation with Legacy in the eighth issue; additionally, super-star creative teams fill out each issue with backup stories starring the younger heroes’ Golden Age counterparts.
