The Creeper

Former investigative journalist Jack Ryder is a voluntary resident of the Morningside Hills Mental Hospital. He has no desire to be released as long as he is haunted by mysterious nightmares that hint at a weird, garishly colored character laughing maniacally just below his consciousness and screaming to get out. Using hypnotic-regression therapy, Doctor Skolos probes Ryder’s tortured subconscious for clues to the trauma that caused his breakdown, but Skolos’ motives may not be entirely benevolent.

The Creeper, who had been languishing in comics limbo for years, returns in this series which features a slightly darker interpretation than his previous run, Beware the Creeper, a title that Steve Ditko created for DC after his departure from Marvel.
