Rushing into a Kansas storm cellar to avoid capture by a menacing vagrant, Dorothy and her neighbor Thomas (nicknamed Toto), inexplicably tumble headlong into a dark and sinister world. Dorothy recognizes the land of Oz from her recent dreams which she’s been recording in an illustrated diary.

Following in the footsteps of Gregory Maguire’s hugely successful 1996 novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, writer/artist Shane Kirshenblatt unfurls his own artistic exploration of L. Frank Baum's Oz—long a public domain property—in this five volume serial published by newcomer Freefall Entertainment. Kirshenblatt recasts the old, familiar faces in new, unfamiliar roles as Dorothy and Toto wade in to Oz’s sinister machinations while endeavoring to make their way home again.
