Most people, even those not particularly religious or well-versed in the Bible, are familiar with the story of Moses and the Exodus, even if it is only because of Charlton Heston and the movie The Ten Commandments.

In this epic undertaking taking its title from Percy Shelley’s Ozymandias, author A. David Lewis (Mortal Coils) and artist M.P. Mann (Flesh Gordon, Ape City) create a human drama that is more than just a classic tale of Good vs. Evil (or Israelites vs. Egyptians). Told from the perspective of Pharaoh Ramses II, the story focuses on a man blessed with divine responsibilities but cursed with human flaws, who can be characterized as both a great leader and a horrific villain. Torn between love for his family and duty to his people, Ramses tries to rule as wisely as possible, even though he faces impossible challenges and a wrathful deity.
