Volcanic Revolver

Volcanic Revolver takes its name from the weapon used in a mob-related murder. Vincenzo shoots a woman named Irish Annie when she tries to deliver a bomb to his bakery, which also happens to be a front for the Valdezio’s counterfeit money operation. Unfortunately for the Valdezio family, Annie’s brother, Sir Robert McTalbot, is an Irish high-society bigwig with connections to the Irish mob. Things are definitely about to get hot for poor Vincenzo.

This moody, black-and-white tale is carried by whimsical dialog liberally spiced with Italian phrases. Creator/illustrator Scott Morse takes a very stylized approach to each panel, relying on heavy lines and solid black shadow to render a stark, turn-of-the-century environment. This story had its first chapter printed in Oni Double Feature #7.
