Junkyard employees Dave and Femmie detect a wrecked ship near their small asteroid. It turns out to be a completely supplied and intact Astropatrol ship with a strange winged serpent hiding aboard. Taking the ship for a test flight after making repairs, the serpent decides to put the craft through a slightly more rigorous workout. Believing they are falling into a planet’s orbit, they activate the ship’s warp drive and end up elsewhere. Our heroes become bounty hunters in the hopes of earning enough to purchase fuel. Thus, they meet the scum of Boloks society who seems very frightened of the small reptile Dave and Femmie still don’t know they’re carrying.

Brett Frymire has written a great black-and-white science fiction comedy that many readers will enjoy.
