Writer Steve Niles and Artist Butch Adams must have had Rankin-Bass’ Mad Monster Party or Mad, Mad, Mad Monsters in mind for their inspiration for this comic as all of the classic Universal Studios monsters reunite for a stage show which also introduces a newer cast of more gruesome monsters. It also reminds me of an obscure but particularly funny issue of DC’s Plop! #4, which featured a monster convention. Fans of all monster movies will have fun with this heartwarming return of their old favorites.
