Valiant Vision Starter Kit

Valiant wanted to publish their own 3-D comics, so naturally they had to recreate, and improve, the traditional process. One aspect of their version is the fact that it works with full-color comics, so that a book done in Valiant VisionTM can be enjoyed with or without the special glasses. Of course, the drawback is that the glasses are still needed to get the three-dimensional effect.

This book details how the process was created and how it works, mostly using pages from Solar, Man of the Atom as examples. Of course, 3-D was way overdue to be improved upon, but that’s not what makes this issue worth collecting. Besides a cover by comics’ legend Neal Adams, the book also features posters, pinups, and other interior art by talents such as Joe Quesada, Bob Layton, and Jimmy Palmiotti.
