TwoMorrows pays tribute to some of the most definitive artists in the world of comics with these folio art and interview collections. Each book showcases the professional life of a specific artist, featuring in-depth interviews as well as commentary and examples from influences in the author’s life. Art excerpts include full-color as well as black and white reprints ranging anywhere from conceptual sketches to finished pieces. In some instances, penciled sketches and inked finishes are even shown side by side, highlighting what can be an extreme contrast between the pencils and the finished work. The layout of the books strike an engaging balanced between the text of the interviews, which usually comment on the artwork shown, and the examples on the right or left-hand side of the page. TwoMorrows has created a remarkable, attractive series here that should be considered an invaluable resource to the comic book fan.
