The Unknown Soldier (Mini-Series)

In the early part of World War II, a young army private was caught by a grenade blast when the Japanese overran the island on which he was stationed. He survived but his face was destroyed by the blast. Taken prisoner by the Japanese, he was placed in a military hospital where he was used as an unwilling test subject for a cellular regeneration formula. Although the drug had killed the others it was used on, it gave this faceless man a new lease on life, giving him strength, virtual immortality, and quickly healing tissue.

When the Americans took back the island, they used this “Unknown Soldier” as a secret weapon, teaching him to fashion any kind of mask, and to spy behind enemy lines. Throughout World War II he was the greatest of heroes, fighting the last good war. But, having escaped a bomb blast that seemed to take his life in the fall of Berlin, he has moved on to fight other, dirtier wars.
