Martian Manhunter (Mini-Series)

J’onn J’onzz—the Martian Manhunter—first appeared in Detective Comics #225. As we had heard it, J’onn J’onzz was accidentally brought to Earth by Doctor Mark Erdel’s Miracle Machine. Once here, he had assumed the guise of a human police officer, “John Jones.” As the need arises, however, he can change into his natural green form and use newfound Earth super-powers to fight crime. In this manner, he became one of Earth’s better-known super-heroes, frequently appearing with the Justice League of America.

That, at least, is the way we had heard it until now.

J.M. DeMatteis and Mark Badger remake the Manhunter in this four-part series. Here, we find out the true story of Doctor Erdel and J’onn J’onzz, discover the nature of life on Mars, and uncover the real reason why J’onn is afraid of fire.
