Every generation has had its legendary working heroes: Paul Bunyan, John Henry, Casey Jones…Now Epic Comics proposes that Steelgrip Starkey be added to the list.

A veteran construction worker (and UCLA graduate, with degrees in engineering and philosophy), Starkey is approached by Shari Barrett with a very special offer. A man she works for, the reclusive Mr. Pilgrim, has invented the all-purpose power tool. Built using “technalchemy,” and programmed by Shari, the tool is capable of building anything imaginable. It runs on almost any kind of power source and can synthesize needed components out of thin air. It will transform itself as necessary into a monstrous tower of machinery, then reverse its growth in order to be stored in a regular-sized toolbox. What was needed was a man capable of wielding it. That’s where Starkey comes in. Together with Shari and his friend “Flying” Flynn Ryan, they’re out construct a new workers’ legend.
