Gus Beezer is your typical kid with an older sister who torments him and parents who put up with his wild imagination. He writes his own comics and is perhaps the number one fan of the amazing Spider-Man. But Gus is tortured beyond all human endurance when he discovers he must attend a family reunion rather than see the new Spider-Man movie. Potato salad and square dancing take their toll on his fragile mind and body, but then he discovers one of his distant cousins is a photographer for the Daily Bugle and has actually seen Spider-Man! A depressing day turns into one of the happiest moments of Gus Beezer’s life.

Gail Simone’s cute story is teamed with Jason Lethode’s distinctive art style and produces an enjoyable slice of childhood in the Marvel Universe.
